David Matthew Price passed away on June 28, 2025, at Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center, Pomona, California. Born on March 10, 1962, in Syracuse, New York, David moved to Cedar Rapids, Iowa in 1968 where his family attended Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. David looked back fondly on his time in Iowa where he enjoyed the changing seasons, fishing, and playing football. He attended George Washington Senior High School. David moved to Southern California in 1986, where he met and married Wendy; they were together for 37 years prior to separating. Although he lived the rest of his life in California, a big part of David’s heart always remained with his Midwest roots.
David spent most of his life doing things on his own terms. He lived by his own internal compass rooted in his religious upbringing, had strong thoughts on how things should be done (whether you asked for them or not), and a contagious laugh that could be heard a mile away.
David shared his vibrant spirit and brought magic to young children by dressing up as Santa Claus and handing out presents during the holiday season for many years. His passion for sharing the sweet moments like this extended into the kitchen where he spent time baking cookies and treats that he would share with family and friends.
David is predeceased by his parents, Lawrence and Frances. He is survived by his siblings Larry, Kathy, and Terri, and their families. He is survived by his four children Michael (Renee), Chris (Alison), Janelle (Mark), and Katrina; and his six grandchildren Annabelle, Mary-Jane, Brayden, Devyn, Matthew, and Mason.
There will be a private Celebration of Life, Saturday, August 16, 2025, in Riverside, CA, where his family and friends will gather to share stories in remembrance inevitably saying “Yep… that was David.”
