Gloria Jackson was born on March 7, 1956, in Los Angeles, California, and passed away on
July 13, 2025, in Palmdale, California, due to heart complications.


Gloria was a caring and independent woman, known for her generosity, sharp wit, and
unwavering loyalty. She was someone who always looked out for those she loved and stood up
for the underdog without hesitation. Dependable and strong, she made a lasting impact on
everyone fortunate enough to know her.


She worked as a registered nurse in the NICU for 50 years. Gloria’s proudest accomplishments
included becoming a nurse, raising and protecting her family, traveling, and pouring her love into
her grandchildren.


She cherished spending time with her loved ones, going to the movies, and exploring new
places. Her family was her heart, and she found her greatest joy in loving and being loved by
them.


Gloria is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Myrian Garner, her grandchildren
Tiarra Scott, Auryelle Ray, Teilor and Quincy Villery, Jayson Ray Jr, Kayla Ray, Elijiah Garner,
and Jaylen Ray, and her great-grandchild Eli Villery. She is also survived by her sister and
brother-in-law, Melva and Russell Averhart, her nephew Russell Averhart Jr, her sister-in-law
Sheila Scott, her nieces Tanisha and Tianna Scott, her great-niece Ariyanna Scott and great
nephews Travion, Marc, TJ, Davion, and Nathaniel.


She was preceded in death by her mother Annie Grace Scott, her father Walker Theodore Scott,
her brother Joseph Goree Scott, and her nephew Travion Donell Washington Scott.


Gloria was deeply loved and will be greatly missed. Her strength, warmth, and loyalty live on in
the hearts of her family and friends.
