Audrey S. Verona passed away peacefully of natural causes on June 23, 2025, in Long Beach, California. She was born on February 19, 1939, in Bridgeton, New Jersey, resided in Randolph, New Jersey for 55 years where she raised her family, and lived a life marked by warmth, generosity, and quiet strength.
Audrey began her career as a stewardess for Capital Airlines and later United Airlines. Over the years, she embraced many roles with grace, working as a manager at Sears and later as an enrollment coordinator for the Weichert Realtors real estate school. In her retirement, she proudly served on several committees for the Township of Randolph, New Jersey. She was also a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, a role that brought her the greatest pride and joy.
She had a deep love for animals and was known for regularly donating food to local animal shelters and food banks. Her kindness was not reserved for just those she knew, but extended outward to her community and the world around her. Audrey’s dry sense of humor, paired with her gentle and giving nature, left an impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Audrey was proud of her family and the home she built and cared for. Her legacy is one of generosity, quiet strength, and enduring love.
She is survived by her son Daniel L. Verona and son-in-law, Dennis Reilly, of Long Beach, California, her son Andrew S. Verona, of Budd Lake, New Jersey, her stepson Edward S. Verona and stepdaughter-in-law Patricia B. Verona, of Houston, Texas, and her stepdaughter Susan E. Verona and stepson-in-law Lloyd Bobb of Horsham, Pennsylvania, as well as three treasured grandchildren and four cherished great-grandchildren.
Audrey was preceded in death by her beloved husband, David A. Verona, and her parents, Ella A. Southard and Samuel O. Southard.
Audrey will be remembered for her kindness, her unwavering generosity, and the gentle way she made the world a little better wherever she went.
