Durnel L. Lacy passed away peacefully on June 10, 2025, in San Bernardino, California, from natural causes. He was born on February 8, 1941, in Hallsville, Texas.

Durnel was a quiet and kind man, known for his gentle nature and love of family. He worked hard throughout his life, first as a city transit bus driver and later at Northrop Corporation. Beyond work, music brought him joy and comfort.

His proudest accomplishment was his family, especially his only son, Darron Lacy, whom he deeply adored. Durnel cherished their long conversations and the special bond they shared. For the last ten years of his life, he lived with Darron and his two grandsons, Carsen and Byson Lacy, which brought him his greatest happiness.

Durnel is survived by his brother Troy L. Lacy, his son Darron Lacy, his grandsons Carsen and Byson Lacy, as well as his stepchildren Anthony, Carolyn, & Yolanda Williams.

He was preceded in death by his father Walter Lacy Sr., his mother Ammie Dixon Lacy, his sister Nadine Lacy Ingram, and his brother Walter Lacy Jr.

His gentle spirit, quiet strength, and deep love for his family will be forever remembered.
