Kyle Micah Painter passed away unexpectedly on May 10, 2025, in Los Angeles, California. He was born on September 5, 1974, in Houma, Louisiana.

Filled with mile-high energy, Kyle loved being outdoors. He enjoyed fishing, walking through the woods, and being on the water. When he wasn’t exploring nature, he could be found on the field playing baseball or soccer. Kyle’s vibrant and often misunderstood sense of humor left a lasting impression through his stories and jokes. His compassion and generosity touched many lives, and he formed a deep bond with homeless communities in his hometown and across the country.

From an early age, Kyle showed a spirit of service. He became an altar boy at his church and was an active member of the Leo Club. He also served his community as a Jr. Deputy for the Sheriff’s Office. Kyle was a compassionate child with a big heart, always bringing stray animals home. He carried that same kindness into adulthood. He connected with people from all walks of life, often through music. He believed in giving and was known to say, “The number 1 city is generosity and the number 1 nation is donation!”

Kyle is survived by his parents, Shirley Ann Dennis and Spencer Charles Painter, his eldest brother Brent Painter (Melissa), younger brother Scott Painter, and younger sister Erin Painter. He is also survived by his aunts and godmother Charlene Cooper (Charles), Jeanine Kelly, and Deomah Courteaux (Carl), nieces and nephews Lizzy Moran, Myles Painter (Blakelyn), Aubrey Painter (his godchild), Job Painter, and Arianna Painter, great nephew Xander Mirowski, great niece Ni’Kaia Painter, numerous cousins, and his godfather Danny Walker.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Rita and Bobby Kelly and his paternal grandparents Audrey and Charles Painter.

Due to Kyle’s private nature, there is no service planned at this time.

Kyle will be remembered for his generous heart, his unique humor, and his love for both people and the natural world. His spirit lives on in those he loved and those he helped along the way.

SAFELY HOME

I am home in Heaven, dear ones;

Oh, so happy and so bright!

There is perfect joy and beauty

In this everlasting light.

All the pain and grief is over,

Every restless tossing passed;

I am now at peace forever,

Safely home in Heaven at last.

Did you wonder I so calmly

Trod the valley of the shade?

Oh! but Jesus’ arm to lean on,

Could I have one doubt or dread?

Then you must not grieve so sorely,

For I love you dearly still;

Try to look beyond earth’s shadows,

Pray to trust our Father’s Will.

There is work still waiting for you,

So you must not idly stand;

Do it now, while life remaineth–

You shall rest in Jesus’ land.

When that work is all completed,

He will gently call you Home;

Oh, the rapture of that meeting,

Oh, the joy to see you come!
