With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Phillip David Wilde, a devoted father, loyal friend, and hardworking man, who left this world on May 12, 2025, in Van Nuys, California. He was 69 years old.
Phillip was born on April 28, 1956, in Maryland, and spent a joyful childhood in Porter Ranch—a time he remembered with fondness and pride. He later made his home in Van Nuys, where he lived most of his adult life and created deep, lasting connections with the people around him.
Throughout his life, Phillip was known for his strong work ethic and quiet determination. He built a life through perseverance and heart, working as a truck driver and security guard—roles that reflected his reliability and sense of duty. He took great pride in providing for his loved ones and being someone others could count on.
Phillip had a lifelong passion for planes and cars. He could talk about them for hours, and found comfort and joy in the details only true enthusiasts understand. But above all, Phillip's greatest pride and purpose in life came from his family. He adored his daughter, Kathryn Elizabeth Wilde, and considered her his most meaningful accomplishment. His marriage to Tyger Plimpton White and his relationship with his stepson, Paul Villanueva, also brought him great love and pride.
To those who knew him, Phillip was steady, kind-hearted, and genuine. He was the type of person who would show up without being asked, quietly offering his help, his time, or simply his company. He believed in loyalty, doing things the right way, and caring for others without condition.
Phillip is survived by his beloved daughter Kathryn Elizabeth Wilde; his former spouse and close friend, Tyger White; his stepson Paul Villanueva; his sister Lynda (Bill) Eledge; his brother Richard (Carrie) Wilde; and three nieces who will hold his memory close. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Wilde and Joan Barbara Wilde.
Phillip lived his life with purpose, dedication, and heart. He was the kind of man who showed up, worked hard, and loved deeply. He leaves behind a legacy of strength, loyalty, and unconditional love that will forever live in the hearts of those who knew him.
