Vera Mira Runtuwene, beloved mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away peacefully on June 17, 2025, in Burbank, California, at the age of 69. Born on July 2, 1955, in Makassar, Indonesia, Vera lived a life devoted to God, family, and the well-being of others.
Vera’s greatest joy was being a mother to her three children — David, Raymond, and Stephanie — and a loving grandmother. Her nurturing spirit, gentle strength, and unwavering faith touched the lives of everyone who knew her. She found joy in the simple things: singing hymns, preparing delicious meals for her family, and extending kindness to those in need.
A private cremation service will be held in Los Angeles with close family and friends. Vera’s life and legacy will also be honored in a memorial gathering planned for September in her hometown of Makassar, Indonesia.
